The Meaning of Khoinchha

Derived from a sacred Bharatiya ritual, “Khoinchha” means "blessing of abundance." In this tradition, elders- often mothers and married women- fill a woman’s sari aanchal with rice, coins, dub grass, turmeric, and blessings during weddings and religious ceremonies, symbolizing prosperity, goodwill, and an emotional farewell. Inspired by this, Khoinchha seeks to be a vessel of intellectual abundance, enriching the global academic community with diverse, high-quality research and fostering cross-cultural connections. 

Our Mission

Khoinchha is a biannual research journal launched in 2023, dedicated to fostering global knowledge exchange and academic excellence. We provide a pioneering platform that transcends linguistic and disciplinary boundaries, inviting scholars from diverse backgrounds to share innovative research and insights. Our mission is to advance worldwide academic discourse by showcasing the rich tapestry of scholarship emerging from Bharat and beyond, empowering researchers to contribute to knowledge without financial or cultural barriers.

Publication Schedule 

Published in June and December, Khoinchha delivers rigorously vetted scholarship twice yearly. Each submission undergoes a double-blind peer-review process, ensuring impartiality and excellence.

Multilingual Platform: We embrace Bharat’s linguistic richness by publishing in Bharatiya languages- such as Sanskrit, Hindi, Bangla, Bhojpuri, Telugu etc- and English. This commitment enhances accessibility, reflects regional academic contributions, and promotes cross-cultural understanding, creating an inclusive space for global knowledge exchange.

Khoinchha is fully open access, eliminating publication fees to empower researchers worldwide. Hosted at www.khoinchha.in, our content is freely available under the Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial 4.0 (CC BY-NC 4.0) license, balancing wide dissemination with author recognition. Operated by a volunteer team, we prioritize equity, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder contributions to scholarship (see Open Access for more).

Peer-Reviewed Excellence

We uphold academic integrity through a rigorous double-blind peer-review process. Field experts evaluate each manuscript for originality, methodology, and significance, providing detailed feedback to authors. The editor finalizes publication decisions based on these assessments, ensuring only top-quality research is published. This process, aligned with Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines, guarantees fairness and credibility.
